Pearl is a hard, lustrous object formed inside the soft tissue of a living shelled mollusc. The most common colours are white and cream, but pearls are also found in black, grey, silver and overtones of pink, purple, green or blue. Each pearl is graded based on its quality of lustre, nacre thickness shape, surface quality, size and colour. Pearls symbolize peace, prosperity, wisdom and good health. They are also well-known for having calming effects. Modern or contemporary – pearls are perfect for the modern Indian woman.
